This policy explains what information is collected when you visit compareyourgear.com ("Gear Compare," "we," "us") and how it is used. We do not ask you to create an account, and we do not sell your personal information.

Information collected automatically

Our site is hosted and delivered by Cloudflare. Like most web services, Cloudflare processes technical information about each visit, such as your IP address, browser type, the pages you request and the time of the request, to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to see aggregate traffic, such as how many people visited and which pages they read. Cloudflare states that its Web Analytics does not use cookies to track individual visitors.

We also use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site, such as which pages are read and how people arrive. Google Analytics uses cookies and collects information like your approximate location, device and browser type, and the pages you visit. You can learn how Google uses this data at policies.google.com, and you can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

Affiliate links

Some links on this site point to retailers such as zZounds and include a code that identifies us as the referrer. When you click one, the retailer may set a cookie in your browser so it can credit us if you make a purchase within its tracking window. That cookie is set and controlled by the retailer, under the retailer's own privacy policy. We receive a report of commissions earned, not your name, contact details or payment information.

Advertising

We may show ads from third-party advertising partners, such as Google AdSense or Mediavine. These partners may use cookies, web beacons and similar technologies to show ads based on your visits to this and other websites, and to measure how ads perform.
